Building an Innovate UK‑funded professional services platform

1284 Communications secured an Innovate UK Create Growth grant to develop a radically transparent campaign management platform. CommsTally® was an £80,000 MVP development project which would give clients 24/7 visibility and measurability over PR activity conducted in their name.

The project objective was to tackle long‑standing productivity and trust challenges in the PR and marketing industries. It would provide a cloud-based platform for agencies to comprehensively and consistently evidence campaign impact.

Intervention.

Digital Planning was commissioned as 1284’s development partner to scope, design and build the AI, automation and software systems needed to take the CommsTally® MVP to market.

We engineered a secure, scalable web application that ingests campaign data, applies automated scoring, and surfaces performance through clear, client‑ready dashboards. We also worked alongside 1284 to turn its industry award-winning insight and experience into ProfileMap® – a proprietary AI engine within the CommsTally® platform presenting a unique way of quantifying intangible campaign interventions.

In an industry historically challenged by patchy client visibility and value identifiers, CommsTally® gives agencies and their clients a shared, data‑driven view of exactly what and why PR and marketing campaigns are delivering.

CommsTally® creates new commercial opportunities for 1284, enabling the agency to pivot into new markets and accelerate the value provided to clients.
