Digital Planning appoints Operations Manager to support scaling

William Darkes has joined Digital Planning as Operations Manager – further strengthening the team as it continues to scale.

Former military bomb disposal specialist William will oversee operations and delivery, manage day-to-day activities, and drive efficiency.

He will work closely with our Chief Operations Officer, Tony Kearin, on Digital Planning’s upcoming projects.

These include Metis, our AI groundbreaking resource allocation platform, which William will help advance as part of our wider operational strategy.

William will also be involved with AuditBot, the industry-changing audit automation tool on which our co-founders serve as Non-Executive Directors.

William started his career by joining the Army six years ago. He went on to specialise in bomb disposal for four years, before moving into engineering recruitment.

His experience brings attention to detail, problem solving skills and resilience.

Transitioning to the tech sector is a new challenge for William, but his track record demonstrates adaptability, a passion for innovation, and the ability to thrive in fast-moving environments.

He said: “Joining Digital Planning at such a dynamic stage is a fantastic opportunity.

“I’m excited to contribute directly to projects that are genuinely transforming how organisations operate, and to be part of a team that values continuous improvement and impact.”

William joins as the company is again recognised for its rapid growth, having recently been shortlisted in the High Growth category at the Barclays Entrepreneur Awards.

Co-Director Mark Underwood said: “William’s background brings a fresh perspective, and operational expertise. Both of these are crucial as we accelerate our development of innovative platforms.

“As Digital Planning continues to scale, having leaders like William help to strengthen our focus on efficiency and delivery.”
