About the project.

Leicester Riders, the UK’s oldest professional basketball club, needed a modern digital platform to match their on-court success and growing ambitions.

Their existing website lacked the flexibility, performance, and energy required to engage fans, support sponsors, and reflect the strength of the Riders brand.

We were brought in to design and build a bold, mobile-first website that puts fans first – with dynamic ticketing, live content integration, and custom features tailored to the club’s evolving needs.

Digital Planning was appointed as Official Digital Partner to deliver a user-focused, mobile-optimised website for the Leicester Riders.

The goal was to streamline navigation, integrate ticketing, and provide rich, engaging content while laying the groundwork for a broader digital transformation.

The new website makes it easier for fans, sponsors, and partners to connect with the club.

Enhanced navigation, mobile optimisation, and a dynamic ticket carousel drive both engagement and revenue. A live Instagram feed keeps content fresh, while custom-built functionality for teams, rosters, and fixtures gives the Riders full control over their digital presence.

Built on a secure, scalable WordPress platform, the site lays a strong foundation for future digital growth and content innovation.

"Before partnering with Digital Planning, the Leicester Riders Basketball Clubs website was static and restrictive, with multiple security issues which limited fan engagement, upsell opportunities, and sponsor visibility. In 2025, we transformed our digital presence with a bold, mobile-first platform that integrated dynamic ticketing, real-time content, sponsor-friendly placements, and an intuitive backend for easy content management. "

-Ashley, Head of Marketing at Leicester Riders.
